We’re excited to share updates on how we’re improving your access to the right care at the right time. Our care pathways are designed to connect you with specialists online, no matter where you are in the UK.
AXA’s New Digestive Health Service
Our recently launched online digestive health service helps members aged 18 and over. After a GP referral, you can have your digestive symptoms assessed online by a consultant gastroenterologist, with follow-up guidance provided within three working days. If necessary, you’ll have fast and convenient access to further tests and support.
Upcoming Dermatology Service
In September, AXA are launching an online dermatology service. After a GP referral for a skin issue that requires specialist care, you can expect:
- Quick access to an online assessment by a consultant dermatologist.
- Referrals for tests and scans if needed.
- Connections to face-to-face specialist appointments when required.
This service integrates with our skin cancer diagnostics service, ensuring that members with suspected skin cancer are directed to the best care.
What Pathways are Planned Next?
We are expanding our services to include online consultations for urology, neurology, and cardiology. These pathways will provide you with quick access to specialists and necessary tests after a GP referral.
Updates to Online GP Service
The GP service, AXA Doctor at Hand (powered by Doctor Care Anywhere), is a vital resource, offering over 60,000 appointments each month. Starting in September, the service will focus on primary care, and our specialist appointment booking service will help connect you to the appropriate specialists when needed.
- 68% of referrals are for muscle, bones, joints, or digestive health, and these will be directed to our care pathways.
- Members with muscle, bone, and joint issues can directly access care without a GP referral.
AXA are enhancing our GP-led online service by integrating Advanced Nurse Practitioners to meet more clinical needs while maintaining current GP availability.
